ExperienceMacbeth Graphics (Beth) offers over 23 years experience in the graphic arts (printing and advertising) industries.
Beth began her career in the graphic arts industry in 1985 straight out of college when she accepted a position as a full-time production artist with a professional firefighter’s association. Thereafter, from 1987 to 1992, she worked for a number of advertising agencies and print shops, and even freelanced, ever building upon previous valuable industry experience.
For over 11 years, from 1992 to 2003, she served as the Electronic PrePress Manager of a local (then) ±$4 million commercial printer where she organized and tracked a variety of projects simultaneously from initial concept to film output, print and distribution. Beth was involved in both design and desktop publishing (generating artwork from initial concept, including layout, illustration, typesetting), and processing, trouble-shooting, and outputting customer-supplied files for the presses. In addition, she maintained close interaction with the sales and prepress production departments, a large and significant client base, and outside vendors (including service bureaus, proofreaders, freelance artists, and 4-color separators).
In March 2003 Beth was recruited by a commercial print salesman to join his print brokerage business. She wore many hatsgraphic designer, customer service, and technical guru (of sorts) troubleshooting customer supplied files, etc.and loved the job. Sales volume rose from $700,000 to $1.2 million in the 13 months she was employed with the two-person print brokerage.
Beth voluntarily resigned in May 2004 to pursue her life-long dream of owning her own business in graphic design and production. She has never looked back.
